Welcome to Encinitas

Encinitas is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California and is known for its excellent surfing conditions. Each year, surfers from all over here compete in local surfing tournaments. The San Elijo Lagoon Reserve boasts the largest coastal wetland in San Diego County and is home to nearly 300 different bird species throughout the year.

Living in Encinitas offers residents a dense suburban feel and there are a lot of parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars which most can walk or bike to relatively quickly. Many families and young professionals live in Encinitas and love the fact that they have an excellent school reputation, a reason many residents have decided to reside here. There are two school districts for residents, plus students from neighboring communities in the upper grades: San Dieguito Union High School District and Encinitas Union School District.

Our favorite things about Encinitas is the Encinitas Ranch golf course – they have the best instructors for kids and adults alike and of course the breakfast at Pannikin, a converted train station with plenty of personality that’s been serving it up since 1968, but if you go in the morning, bring a sweatshirt.
